Updated: Nov 19, 2019
We're excited to share that Network Next has opened a new office in Troy, NY and that we're hiring folks for several positions in that region.
Why Troy, you ask? Great question! Here's why we love Troy, NY:
Network Next's customers are video game developers. Troy sits in an area known as the Capital Region. As of March 2019, there were 5 large studios and 16 independent video game studios employing 400+ people in gaming in that region.
Over 425 video games have been developed by local studios, including Vicarious Visions, 1st Playable, PUBG Mad Glory, and WB Games NY. We're hiring talent that is not only technical but also loves video games and wants to help studios improve the network performance of their online games.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
Founded in 1824, RPI is the oldest private engineering and technical university in the US. It is well recognized for its degree programs in engineering, computing, business and management, information technology, the sciences, design, and liberal arts.
Top programming and technical talent come out of that school, including the CEO of Troy-based video game studio, Velan Studios, who also co-founded Vicarious Vision back in the 90s. New York State has invested in RPI and its efforts to become a Digital Gaming Hub.
Government Support for Gaming
Leaders in New York State and the Capital Region are committed to 10X growth in gaming. The Regional Economic Development Council even declared the cultivation of the gaming industry as a regional priority.
At Network Next we're more than excited to be a part of the ongoing success of game development in the New York Capital Region. If you're interested in game development, game networking and making the internet better for games by reducing latency, jitter and packet loss, then we want to hear from you!
